Balance transfer

Move the sliders or type your own numbers. Results are estimates that assume a constant rate and are not guaranteed.

🧠 How this is calculated

Both cases are simulated month by month with the same payment. Transfer case: balance plus the transfer fee, the intro APR for the promotional months, then the post-promotion APR. Staying put uses your current APR throughout.

Calculations run in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us. Results are estimates that depend on the assumptions shown.

❓ FAQs

What does a balance transfer cost?

Most offers charge a transfer fee (a percentage of the amount, often with a minimum). Compare the fee with the interest you would save, and plan to repay before the intro period ends.

What happens when the intro APR ends?

Any remaining balance is charged the card’s regular APR. The calculator applies your post-promotion APR after the intro period.

Is this financial advice?

No. The calculator shows what happens under the numbers you enter. Rates, limits and tax rules change; confirm with the provider or a licensed professional.

Results are illustrations, not offers or advice. Investments can lose value; bank deposits are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category.
