Contact usWhat does FinancePortal do?
FinancePortal is an independent comparison and information website. We show credit card terms read from issuer pages, publish sourced guides and offer free calculators on mortgages, loans, taxes, retirement, credit, insurance and investing. We do not lend money, issue cards or sell financial products.
Where do the numbers come from?
From official sources: issuer pages for credit cards; Freddie Mac and FHFA for mortgage benchmarks and loan limits; the IRS and Social Security Administration for tax and retirement figures; studentaid.gov for student loans; the FDIC for deposit rates; and the CFPB for consumer rules. Each page lists its sources and the date the figure was checked.
What is the current 30-year mortgage rate?
The Freddie Mac weekly average for the week of 24 September 2026 was 7.03% for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage and 6.42% for a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage. Your rate depends on your credit, down payment, loan type and lender, so compare Loan Estimates.
What are the 2026 federal tax brackets?
For tax year 2026 (filed in 2027) the rates are 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%. The standard deduction is $16,100 for single filers and $32,200 for married couples filing jointly. See the full tables by filing status in our 2026 tax brackets guide.
How much can I contribute to a 401(k) or IRA in 2026?
The 2026 employee limit for a 401(k) is $24,500 (plus catch-up contributions from age 50). The IRA limit is $7,500, or $8,600 if you are 50 or older. Roth IRA eligibility phases out at higher incomes.
Is it safe to use this site to apply for a card or loan?
We never ask for card numbers, Social Security numbers, bank passwords or one-time codes, and we do not take applications. Always apply on the issuer’s or lender’s official website. Report scams at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
How often is the data updated?
Every card and rate page shows the date its terms were read. Card terms and rates change often, so confirm with the provider before you apply. Weekly benchmarks such as mortgage rates carry the week they describe.
How does FinancePortal make money?
The site is supported by advertising served by partners such as Google, always labelled “Advertisement”. Advertisers cannot buy how products are listed or described. If we add referral links they will be clearly disclosed — see our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
Compare credit cards side by side
Pick up to three of our 21 cards and see fees, APRs, offers and rewards in one table — every figure from the issuer’s own page.
Figures on this page come from the same data as our category pages: credit cards checked 30 September 2026, mortgage rates for the week of 24 September 2026, deposit rates effective September 21, 2026, 2026 tax and retirement limits from the IRS and SSA. Always confirm the current rate with the provider before you apply or invest. Not financial advice.
